About:

LiquidLuau is a way for graphic artists and designers to crowdsource jobs and get linked into a marketplace of similar artists.

I am most proud of this website project because encompasses many of my skills as a designer and developer. LiquidLuau was built from the ground up to make it easier for graphic artists, web developers, web entrepreneurs to connect to clients in a social network with profile and portfolio pages. As you can see, every aspect of the code had attention to detail for ideal optimization and cross browser/os compatibility. Throughout the site there is examples of CSS, PHP, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, AJAX (script.aculo.us and other ajax libraries) – and it all complies with the latest standards.

Challenge

In early 2006, freelance web designers and graphic artists did not have a solid solution framework to find work. I am the founder, designer and lead concept developer behind the project. My idea was embraced by thousands of web designers and graphic artists around the world, and I led the effort to produce a thriving web designer community.

Solution

I conceived the project and designed it from start to finish. With the latest Adobe and Macromedia suites, I constructed mockups, prototyping and wire-framing to manage the workflow of the project. Keeping it user friendly, clean, accessible and lightweight was a number one priority of mine. I also handled parts of the front end development including the latest Javascript libraries and AJAX frameworks. Please note, this project is in the process of receiving additional funding in order to drive it where I imagined it can go.
